They / Them
14th October 2022 – Festsaal Kreuzberg
Open Doors: 16:00++
On Stage:- 00:15 (15th October)
Hals is a seven acts play.
Each of these acts is dedicated to an emotion, a state of being.
We started experimenting those states from the beginning of the sanitary crisis. They continue to go through us, each time with a different intensity and a new aspect.
We all know these emotions, we have been rediscovering them for several months. They express themselves through us and we issue them, conciously or inconciously, through many ways in the intimate space, the social, professional and digital environement.
Hals is a piece dedicated to live act. So the themes are worked beforehand but not too much, in order to put spontaneity into the expression and give a large space to improvisation.
For each of the seven acts of Hals piece, the core is composed of a text and a musical base, to give a freedom of interpretation to both musicians.
The seven states are :
Fear, confusion, acceptance, dream, hope, impatience, euphory.
Texts are written in morrocan arabic dialect darija, with a few intervals in french, spanish and english.
Hals repertoire is concieved to be played in whichever order to experience emotional transitions between two states.
It is an experimental project through which both artists play the game of imrovisation and self aknowledgment in a context full of uncertainity where everoyone must find their marks to compose the future.
